The conversations took place between December 2022 and January 2023, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Hanover Township Police Chief Michael Loock said.
Brian Cariddi exposed his private parts during the conversations with the boy, who lived in North Carolina, authorities said. Cariddi also asked the boy to send him pictures of the boy's private parts, authorities said.
Cariddi was charged with attempted endangering the welfare of a child, endangering the welfare of a child via sexual contact and lewdness, authorities said.
Cariddi is being detained pending future court proceedings, authorities said.
